Every reservation moves through a fixed set of statuses. You control the early ones; the driver moves the ones on the road.
| Status | Who sets it | What the customer gets |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | You | Nothing — the trip is not live yet. |
| Pending | You, or an incoming booking | Booking received email. |
| Confirmed | You | Confirmation email. Pre-trip payment runs here. |
| Assigned | You or dispatch | Driver details. Shown to them as Driver assigned. |
| En route | Driver | Status email with a live tracking link. |
| On location | Driver | Status email. Shown as Driver arrived. |
| On board | Driver | Nothing — deliberately silent. |
| Completed | Driver, on signature | Nothing yet. |
| Settled | You, or automatically | Receipt and rating request, about an hour later. |
Reminders go out automatically 24 hours and 2 hours before pickup. Cancelled and no-show have their own emails, covered in the next article.
A trip's detail page is the single place to see all of this — status, driver, vehicle, line items, payment state, refunds, notes, contract signature, and flight tracking if the pickup is an airport.
